During the past year, the industry has seen the sale of some of the Country's most expensive numbers.
The half million pound number is now with us.
How long until a number hits the magic million?

What was the 1/2 Million number? I saw a good plate today on an oldish Ford Fiesta (1998) it was TOM 4 or similair ie TOM and a single number. I said to my brother I bet thats worth about £40,000 how far out was I?

Hi James
The highest publicised price currently stands at £331,000 for M 1. Bought by Mike McComb from Liverpool. He made his personal fortune via mobile phones.
However, I have it on good authority that a very similar number went for £500k in a private deal.
TOM 4 is probably worth about £25000 these days.
Your guess at £40k could possibly be achieved if the number was marketted well.

I remember a few years ago Top Gear did an article on DVLA auctions. The numbers K1 NGS and P1 LOT were mentioned as some of the most valuable then. Would they top the above figure if sold Today?

I think there is a good likelihood of K1 NGS bettering it's original price.
P1 LOT went for a lot more than expected originally. Probably still worth that now though.

F 1 is currently for sale. They are asking £500k.
I would think that if RR 1 ever came up for sale, it could go even higher.

That was on the HSBC adverts. 8 Is considered a lucky number in China / Hong Kong. Hence the reason we snapped up 88888888.org.cn domain name when they were issued
